At 32, Janjua is the old man among his fellow pilots. Born and raised in Calgary, he grew up dreaming of flying jets and rockets and was active in the International Space University before taking two years flight training followed by six years of fighter training. He has a master’s degree from MIT in aeronautics and astronautics and is a Canadian Forces fighter-weapons instructor — a top gun.
