Any student of history knows that civilizations rarely survive, let alone prosper, in a prolonged atmosphere of distrust and conflict. Priorities get skewed and precious resources are diverted to maintain a security state at the cost of its populace.

Pakistani, Indian textile leaders discuss trade hurdles
NEW DELHI: Indian and Pakistani textile businessmen met in New Delhi on Thursday as part of the Aman Ki Asha’s business sub-committee on textiles to discuss hurdles in trade and ways to overcome them.
Confederation of Indian Industry (CII) arranged the meeting as a follow-up to the first such meeting in May last year. The Amn Ki Asha initiative has jointly been launched by Pakistani media giant the Jang Group and Times of India to promote peace between the nuclear-armed South Asian neighbours in the first of its kind civil society movement.
