World Summit Youth Award (WSYA) is a unique global contest which brings together young developers and digital entrepreneurs -under 30 years of age- who use internet and mobile technology to put the UN Millennium Development Goals (MDGs) into action and make a difference.
In 2012 the World Summit Youth Award Winners’ Event was hosted at WITSA’s 18th World Congress on Information Technology in Montréal, Canada.
Hina Hazrat is an Ismaili Muslim girl from Chitral who lives in Karachi. Her project, The Youth Republic has been selected as Runner-Up for World Summit Youth Award 2012 in Create your Culture category, competing with more than 1200 projects entered from 122 UN countries, made Pakistan’s way to WCIT Montreal.
The Youth Republic is a Global Youth Network having network spread in more than 42 countries of the world. In a year The Youth Republic completed more than 13 Action-Projects impacting lives of thousands of people all around the world. Moreover, the effective work of The Youth Republic is also featured globally at national and international levels. The Youth Republic provides Youth a platform to stay united, let voices be heard and amplified, enable Youth share opportunities, strengthen inter-cultural dialogues, stay pluralistic, spread love for cultures, traditions and religions all over the world, respect diversity, support multilingualism, work for better tomorrow and inclusive future by developing Global Partnership, hence paving a way towards achieving the mission of Better Tomorrow and impacting 100 per cent of the world.
