[@ 8:00] I think the role of this museum is to raise in the mind of the visitor more questions than answers. Questions about Islam, about Muslim, and generate a type of anxiety to know that will compel these visitors to have all the means of information … either written, audio visual and if the museum sets up this kind of state of mind in the visitors then it would have fulfilled its purpose.

[@ 4:02] Somebody said that museums are a windows that allows us to look into our past to understand or to scrutinize what could be our future. This exhibition in talking about the subjects of the past will give an insight in the future. It will talk about the relationships between the Muslim world and the West, which are more than 1000 years old.

– Luis Monreal, Member of the Board of Directors of the Aga Khan Museum and
General Manager of the Aga Khan Trust for Culture (AKTC)
