Archnet – Masjid-i Wazir Khan, Lahore, Pakistan

Exuberant architectural decorations embellish exterior and interior surfaces of the mosque.

In essence these are of two kinds – exterior surface decorations which are chiefly in the form of glazed ceramic tile murals; and interior decorations in the form of naqqashi wall painting – a semi-dry form of fresco.

Both these forms of embellishment have integral calligraphic components drawing on the Quran and the Hadith.
