Ismaili Centre, Toronto hosts “Cities of Arrival”: Imagining the pasts, presents and futures of cities and urban spaces

Throughout 2015 the Ismaili Centre, Toronto will host Cities of Arrival – a curated program of lectures, symposia, roundtables, exhibitions, performances, workshops, and activities that explores the pasts, presents and futures of cities and urban life, and critically imagines how humanity will share the most densely populated spaces on our planet.

By 2020 more people will be living in cities than ever before in human history. Many urban centres will double in size, particularly in the developing world. The impacts of these shifts will be felt around the globe. Innovative solutions will have to be found to address the needs and aspirations of these spaces and their diverse and growing populations.
