The Clash of Ignorance: The Must-Watch TEDx Talk on Islamophobia

The Clash of Ignorance: The Must-Watch TEDx Talk on IslamophobiaThe Prophet Muhammad famously said, “Seek knowledge, even as far as China.” Thanks to Dr. Shafique Virani’s new TEDx talk, “The Clash of Ignorance,” those of us trying to grapple with the issue of Islamophobia need only go as far as YouTube.

Virani’s talk has been widely acclaimed and recognized in the TEDx community and is currently being promoted and incorporated in new academic and public policy initiatives. Leading academic institutions, such as Harvard’s Alwaleed Institute of Islamic Studies, have highlighted the talk on their websites and others have invited Dr. Virani, Distinguished Professor of Islamic Studies at the University of Toronto, to share his message in public lectures.

  1. What magnificent and inspiring presentation! This remarkable show of eloquence, engaging scholarship and humanistic wisdom should be a “must watch” in schools, colleges, universities, community centres, and all religious and secular institutions. Our contemporary world needs more thoughtful and, yes, beautiful people like professor Virani in order to challenge the ugliness of religious bigotry and racial hatred. Professor Virani ought to be thanked for and congratulated on this most commendable, timely and thought-provoking piece of labour of love and enduring wisdom.
