Dr. Dilkhush Panjwani is a consultant psychiatrist at Trillium Health Partners and a lecturer in psychiatry at the University of Toronto. Over the past 40 years, he has not only served persons suffering from mental health problems in three different continents, but also tirelessly advocated to eradicate the stigma of mental illness through public awareness and education. He has provided voluntary community service to many bereaved families and newcomers to Ontario.
Dr. Panjwani has generously donated his time, knowledge and resources to community and non-profit organisations such as Aga Khan Foundation Canada, BAPS Charities, and Focus Humanitarian Assistance, among many others. In addition, he is a founding member of the annual Lions Community Walk/Run for Happiness in support of mental health. He has raised large amount of funds for Markham Stouffville Hospital, Canadian Mental Health Association and Ontario Shores Foundation & Centre for Mental Health Sciences. He served as board member of Canadian Mental Health Association and Children Aid Society.
Dr. Panjwani’s professional work and exemplary community services in both northern Ontario’s rural communities and Greater Toronto Area have positively impacted the physical, mental and spiritual wellbeing of several thousand Ontarians, as well as benefited the workplace and economy of Ontario. His community contributions have earned him the Queen Elizabeth II Diamond Jubilee Medal and recognitions/awards from many organizations.
