Tanzeel Bhaidani is an Ismaili Muslim from Calgary, AB, Canada. Tanzeel is pursuing a Bachelor of Science in Kinesiology at the University of Calgary. She has been singing from the age of 8 and have been professionally trained in Indian Classical Music.
Tanzeel have had the opportunities to perform on Pakistan television as a child artist and recently have also been a part of the official Diamond Jubilee Song “Jubilee Mubarak” composed and produced by Salim-Sulaiman.
On June 24th 2017, Tanzeel was announced as the RED FM Idol 2017 as a vocalist. The first stage of the competition consisted of an open audition, after which she moved on to an on-air radio round where the top 9 contestants were chosen. The top 9 contestants then competed with a live band at the Leacock Theatre in Mount Royal University. This final show also had three rounds. This competition was open to anybody above the age of 19 from the Prairies region. The three judges were Gs Peter, Nishikant Bali, and Kanth Kaler, who are all renowned South Asian artists.
Tanzeel has been honoured as the youngest and first Ismaili Muslim winning this Idol award in its 5th year of competition. In addition to receiving a trophy; cash prize; a professional photo and video shoot, she has signed up to professionally record songs for an album.
