The Best of YouTube, by Sahil BadruddinSahil Badruddin is a graduate of The University of Texas at Austin with majors in Chemical Engineering, Religious Studies (focus in Islamic & Ismaili Studies), and History (concentration in History of Religions & History of Science). He often organizes speaking events for intellectuals; some past events include Mohamed Keshavjee at the University of Texas at Austin, Shafique Virani at Yale University, and Reza Aslan at the University of Madison-Wisconsin.

Sahil’s RoundUp Series assembles the most interesting and credible religion-related video content in various themes for a general audience. Despite its wide availability, he noticed there was a lack of good and accessible (centralized) content in the field of Religious Studies so, as a hobby, he decided to compile the absolute best material. Sahil strives to offer an objective yet deep understanding of religion given the sea of negativity and misunderstanding.

Aly Sunderji is a Vancouver based artiste hailing from the Mewati Gharana. His musical journey started as a child listening to ginans and he soon realized that classical, Hindustani vocal music was where his destiny laid. Versed in Bhajan, Kirtan, Haveli Sangeet, Sufi & Bhakti Music as well as Rajasthani and Gujarati Folksongs, Aly is a devoted music teacher and a ginan trainer, and a musical disciple of Pt. Rattan Mohan Sharma (grand-disciple of Pandit Jasraj).

As an Ismaili, for Aly, music is ibaadat. It is way of praising, yearning, imploring and conversing with the Creator. Inspired by the works of Rumi, Mira, Kabir and Tulsidas, Aly is also an avid writer of Sufi poetry. His most recent works include an album of Krishna Bhajans entitled Guru Vandana. In his free time, Aly is passionate about sharing music on YouTube and, when not pursuing music, spends most of his time in the kitchen, professionally, as an Indian sweet expert (“mithaiwalla”) and often known as the Mithai Man.

Aly Sunderji also writes about Ginan Raags (Tunes) at Ismailimail https://ismailimail.wordpress.com/category/ginans/
