Did you know that the Blue Qur’an is considered a wonder of Islamic calligraphy?

The Blue Qur’an is considered one of the most exquisite creations of mediaeval Islam, and is one of the wonders of Islamic calligraphy. Although rare in Qur’an manuscripts, the gold-on-blue style was used in royal manuscripts in the courts of the Abbasids (750–1258) and the Fatimids (909–1171). More at Aga Khan Museum (accessed August 2017).
