Association for the Study of Ginans presents, the next International Ginan Conference which will be held in London on November 21 and 22, 2015.
This two-day event will include presentation of papers by eminent speakers. Professor Karim H. Karim (Director, Carleton Centre for the Study of Islam, Carleton University, Ottawa, Canada) to present a keynote address on “Burying Religious Heritage: The Serial Interment of the Ginanic Corpus”. Other presenters include, Professor Balvant S Jani (Saurashtra University, Rajkot, India) who will present on “Sayyid Imamshah’s Budhai bai no samvad: Theme and Conceptual understanding”. Alwaeza Rashida Noormohamed Hunzai (London, UK) on “Eternal Teachings in Changing Cultural Contexts: An Analysis of Kesri Sinha by Pir Shams”, and many others (see attached program) details).
On Saturday evening, the conference will feature a Ginan concert: “Ginans – A Musical Journey through the Ages” charting the journey of the devotional literature from its very beginning 1400 years ago.
