Mosaic Institute to honor Calgary Mayor, Naheed Nenshi, recipient of the World Mayor Award as the 2017 Honorary Peace Patron

On May 29, 2017, the Mosaic Institute will be holding the annual Peace Patron Dinner. At that time, the Institute will be paying tribute to his Worship, Naheed Nenshi, the Mayor of Calgary, as the 2017 Honorary Peace Patron.

The Mosaic Institute’s Honorary Peace Patron award acknowledges an exemplary Canadian who has made significant contributions in strengthening the fabric of Canada. The Institute is recognizing Mayor Nenshi as an outstanding leader, who has brought positive change to Calgary through the strengthening of communities and encouraging a culture of citizen-focused improvement.

Mayor Nenshi will be the fourth Mosaic honouree joining Senator Murray Sinclair, the Hon. Louise Arbour and the Hon. Hugh Segal.

The Mosaic Institute is also pleased to share that the Honorary Tribute Committee Chair is Mayor John Tory joined by other mayors, former mayors and civic leaders from across Canada.

About Mayor Naheed Nenshi

Mayor Nenshi grew up in Calgary and has lived and worked in cities around the world before returning home.

He holds a Bachelor of Commerce Degree (with distinction) from the University of Calgary and a Master in Public Policy from the John F. Kennedy School of Government at Harvard University, where he studied as a Kennedy Fellow.

Nenshi is Calgary’s 36th Mayor and serving his second term.
