Aga Khan Diamond Jubilee: Canadian Ismailis volunteered over 1M hours | The Province

The Ismaili Civic 150 initiative was launched on Sep. 17 last year with the pledge of one million hours of service and the community engaging in a day of service. Since then, members of the community have engaged in voluntary services, individually and collectively, to contribute to the pledge.

Ismailis Muslims volunteered as mentors and coaches to build the next generation’s skills. They also delivered employment and settlement support services to new Canadians, provided care for the elderly, supported anti-poverty initiatives, and maintained natural and public spaces.
